We have produced a lot of turned timber balusters over the years, with most of them being made out of Pine, Oak or Meranti.

Occasionally you get a request to make a baluster out of a different timber; which was the case in the photos below of a job that we did for a local hotel upgrade here in Adelaide.

The client wanted a strong timber due to the high potential for damage that can occur in public areas; so we suggested they use Jarrah; which is not only strong, but is also an Australian timber that is found only in Western Australia.

The end result was a great looking baluster on a great looking timber balustrade.
