The Designer Rail is a 43mm round handrail system that combines the warmth of timber with the modern look of stainless steel to great affect. It is perfect for use use in hospitals and aged care facilities.
Many years back we were approached by a customer who had a massive amount of calligraphy nibs that he had acquired, that he felt that if he could add a wooden handle to, then he would be able to sell them as souvenirs at historical tourist locations around Australia. The issue was finding someone who could make the handles at a price that would make the finished product attractive. Lucky for him that he came and contacted us, as we had the perfect machine to produce them on.
A nice wide timber handrail is a perfect spot to put a cold bottle of beer or glass of wine whilst enjoying the view from your timber deck; and wouldn't you know it, but we just happen to produce such a product !
When it comes to Australian hardwoods like Victorian Ash, where the main attraction is to be able to see the grain by putting a clear polish on it, rather than covering it with a paint; it makes sense for the timber to have clean lines and be free of defects. You would think then that finger-jointing this timber would dilute the visual look you are trying to achieve. Well recently we did a job where the results surprised us ...
When gluing timber it is very important that you have the right glue for the process, otherwise the product can come apart (de-laminate). Since the 1990's we have been using Titebond as our preferred wood glue, and we couldn't be happier with the results. In fact we are so happy with the product, that we decided that the next logical step was to sell it !
Since the 1970's we have been manufacturing a range of wooden cabriole legs. These traditional legs are made from plantation grown Radiata Pine and are available in a range of 8 heights from the smallest size of 115mm to the tallest size of 735mm.
Dating back to the 1960's we have been making a range of wooden curtain rings for the Australian market.
Although our sales have declined over this period due to changing styles and pressure from cheaper imported versions; we have still been able to find a market for Australian made curtain rings, particularly since we opened our online shop a few years ago.
