Last year we added 2 specially designed eave brackets to our range of treated timber brackets.
As eave brackets are not commonly seen on Adelaide homes we had never felt the need to manufacture them, but with our online shop drawing on sales from all over Australia, we decided that it might be worth adding them to our product range, as they are used extensively on homes built in other states of Australia.
We manufacture a number of different treated roof finials, but one of our more unusual finials is the Gooseneck design.
Based on a traditional design that can be found on many 100 year old Australian homes, particularly in Adelaide, the Gooseneck roof finial is manufactured from Radiata Pine that is then LOSP treated to withstand the outside elements.
Although most of the products we make relate to furniture, stairs and exterior structures; we do have a large range of other items that we manufacture for companies that aren't involved in these markets.
One such item is tie back stems for a curtain and blind manufacturing business. We have been making this design for them for over a decade, and it still continues to be as popular for them now as it was when we first started doing it.
We have been making a turned Ball style treated fence post capital for nearly 20 years; and over this time we would have sold well over 250,000 of them.
The design we have been producing is a bit different to what was being used in Western Australia; and this became an issue in recent years as the number of local WA wood turning business began to decline.
Not every staircase needs to be made from stainless steel and glass; there are still many new Australian homes that are being built in a traditional fashion that suits a traditional style of staircase.
Our Heritage timber handrail design is one such style that suits this more traditional approach.
Australian hardwoods like Spotted Gum, Blackbutt and Sydney Blue Gum look fantastic, and are currently very popular being used for timber flooring.
Obviously if you are having a staircase built or needing a piece of furniture made; it is desirable to make it from the same timber as you are using on the floor. The issue with this, is that these timbers are not available in large sections, which means that you will need to glue together pieces to make up the final size you require; which in itself presents a problem, as the characteristics that make these timber popular are the same ones that also make it difficult to glue.
There are many products that we manufacture that we are proud of, but the one near the top of the list is our treated timber verandah posts.
The reason we are so proud of this range of products is because of the way we are now able to effortlessly manufacture them; which is as a result of many years of mechanical engineering work performed by my Grandpa, Ted, over 2 decades ago.
