50mm American Oak dowel is a product that we have been stocking and selling for a while now; but occasionally we get a request from customers for a rebated to be put into it.

This particular customer needed a 27x27mm rebate to be put into the dowel so that it would fit over the top of a steel rail that formed part of a balustrade on a staircase.

This is a larger than normal rebate, so it did provide us with some challenges when trying to machine it, but you can see by the photos that the end result came out perfectly as planned.
