Occasionally you get a request from a customer that makes you scratch your head and think "can we do that ?" . This was the case recently when one of our customers who we regularly make wooden curtain rods asked if we could do a reeded version.

After giving it a fair bit of of thought we came up with a tooling design that we were confident could produce the job. We then had the tooling made and set it on our 7 headed moulder.

Without a word of a lie, the first piece that came out the end of the moulder was the perfectly reeded timber dowel that you see in the photos below and above.

Hopefully our customer has some good success with the end product, as it would be great to be able to run more of it.
