- This post is designed to be used on a staircase. Before installing, you will need to cut it to the desired length at the angle that matches your stair and install the top plate (with the screws provided). The photo of the post is how it will look once these processes are done. See Description and FAQ's below for more information.

- Please note that due to the width of the top plate, the minimum width of the handrail needs to be 60mm.

- These posts are made to order. Unless the post is defective in some way, NO REFUNDS will be given if you have ordered the wrong post or you decide to change your mind and want to return it.

Description

A 50x50mm black aluminium plain post, designed to cut on an angle to suit a stair. 

It comes plain, but is provided with 20x black rivet nuts (10 left hand thread and 10 right hand thread) which will need to be fixed in place if being used as an end post.

If being used as an intermediate post, we recommend using installing one every 1.5m if using any of our 3.2mm wire balustrading kits.


IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ 

This product requires cutting and drilling before installation.

The post is supplied at 1100mm in height and must be trimmed by the installer to the required height and angle. As it is made from aluminium, the process of trimming it is far easier than equivalent styled posts made in stainless steel. The top of the post must be cut to an angle between 33° and 38° so the angled top plate can be fitted correctly.

If the post is being used as an intermediate post, the installer will need to drill the holes for the wire runs in the correct positions.

If the post is being used as an end post, the installer will need to drill the holes large enough to accept the supplied nutserts, which must then be installed into the post. Installing the nutserts requires a rivet nut tool, which is sold separately (IF124X).

FAQs

Where would you normally use a square angled post?
This post is typically used where angled balustrading is required, such as stair runs or ramps.

What is it made out of?
The post is made from aluminium and finished with a black powder-coated Protexture finish.
The aluminium is lightweight enough that it can be cut with a drop saw/angle grinder with a suitable blade.

Is the cover plate included?
Yes. A two-part cover plate is included to conceal the base of the post. A 2mm hex key will be required for assembly.

What is included with the post?
The post is supplied plain and undrilled at 1100mm height, along with an angled top plate, screws to fix the top plate, M6 LHT and RHT nutserts, and a bottom cover plate.

Do I need to cut or drill the post before installation?
Yes. You will need to trim the post to the desired height and top angle (between 33°–38°). After cutting, the top plate must be fixed using the screws provided.

- For intermediate posts, drill the holes for the wire runs in the correct positions.

- For end posts, drill the holes for the supplied nutserts and install them using a rivet nut tool (sold separately, IF124X).

How should you fasten it to the ground/deck?
Because the post can be installed on a wide variety of surfaces, fasteners are not supplied. We recommend consulting your local hardware store or builder to select suitable fixings for your installation.
