Frequently Asked Questions About Galvanised Steel Pipe & Fittings
How do you attach the galvanised clamp fittings to the pipe?
The majority of our galvanised pipe fittings are external fit, and are therefore attached to the pipe by a small grub screw (included with the fitting). The only exception to this rule are the internal fit galvanised fittings, which are attached by expanding within the pipe. See out range of galvanised disability pipe fittings for more information
What is the most popular size for pipe fittings?
Due to the fact that the majority of out pipe fittings are used in the construction of handrail and balustrades, the most popular sizes tend to be the 42mm and 48mm fittings. With that being said, we offer a huge range of modular pipe fittings ranging from 27mm through to 60mm.
What size NB/OD pipe do your clamp fittings suit?
All of our measurements reference the outside diameter of the pipe each fitting is designed to suit. Currently we stock clamp fittings to suit 27mm, 34mm, 42mm, 48mm and 60mm pipe. For those interested, you can find a conversion chart between OD and NB here. Please note that we have rounded our measurements to the nearest mm.
