Description
Where would you normally use this stainless steel wire cable fitting?
For hydraulically swaged cable balustrading either with timber or stainless posts.
For more information, please click here to download a PDF that shows where this part would be used for wire cabling.
What is it made out of?
316 Stainless Steel.
How do I fasten the cable to it?
The 3.2mm wire cable goes into the open end of the fitting. Use a hydraulic swager to secure the cable. Do NOT use a hand swager or pliers, as the pressure required to press the metal flat is far greater than can be applied by hand.
Rotate the centre of the fixing to tension the cable (a special spanner can be purchased from our shop to aid the process, but is not 100% necessary).
Can it be used for exterior applications?
As it is 316 grade Stainless Steel it is more than suitable to be used inside or outside.
Without regular cleaning and maintenance discolouration of the surface of the stainless steel by corrosion (tea staining) can occur.
