Where would use a T-Nut ? When needing to fix a leg (that has a 5/16" lag screw) to the bottom of a lounge or piece of furniture. Drill a hole in the timber that is about the same size as the outer diameter of the T-Nut, and then use a hammer or rubber mallet to knock the T-Nut into the timber until it is flush with the surface.
Remember to drill the initial hole deep enough so that the hole of the lag screw will fit up into the frame of the lounge or piece of furniture you are fixing it to.
