Description
The IF457XS4H is a hollow 80mm wall-mounted handrail bracket designed to allow a power cable to pass through for LED strip lighting (or similar). It has a flat cradle, so is therefore only suitable for handrails with a flat base.
It is not a weight-bearing product, and is therefore designed to be used in conjunction with the IF457XS4 solid bracket.
Note that this is an interior-use-only bracket, being made from 304-grade stainless steel.
The bracket comes supplied with 3 screws to fix into timber studs, and a cover plate to cover the screw holes.
Distance from the wall to the centre of the handrail: 80mm.
Diameter of the round plate that fixes to the wall: 55mm.
Inside diameter of the bracket (where the electrical cable will pass through): 10mm.
Suggested spacing between handrail brackets: Spacing between brackets depends a lot on the type of handrail and timber you use, but anywhere from 900 to 1500mm is a good guide.
Where would you normally use this handrail bracket?
It is hollow, allowing for electrical cable to be passed through it.
It can therefore be used in situations where electricity is required to powerup lights on the underside of a handrail mounted to a wall.
Is this bracket load-bearing?
No. Please note that this handrail bracket is NOT load bearing, and should NOT be used as the 1st or last bracket of a handrail.
This bracket should only be used in conjunction with the load-bearing equivalent IF457XS4.
What is the bracket made from?
304 Stainless Steel in a Satin finish.
This bracket is for INTERIOR use.
Which handrails are compatible with this bracket?
The plate that the handrail is fixed to is flat; which will suit any of our flat bottom handrails
How does it fix to the wall?
It uses 3 screws (supplied) to fix into timber or into a plastic plug (not supplied) if fixing to brick.
There are multiple holes for the screws to fit into so as to allow for the best fit of the bracket to the wall.
The cover plate fits snuggly to the backing plate.
