For DIY cable balustrading either with timber or stainless posts.
For more information, please click here to download a PDF that shows where this part would be used for wire cabling.
What is it made out of?
316 Stainless Steel.
How do I use it to hold the cable?
This fitting is perfect for DIY, as it is designed to be used in conjunction with a ferrule and hand swager. Thread the cable through the ferrule, loop it around the thimble, then thread it back through the other hole in the ferrule. Use the hand swager to crush the ferrule so that it grips the wire cable. Cut off any extra wire cable for a neat finish. All of these items are also available on our online shop. (see related product below)
Can it be used for exterior applications?
As it is 316 grade Stainless Steel it is more than suitable to be used inside or outside.
Without regular cleaning and maintenance discolouration of the surface of the stainless steel by corrosion (tea staining) can occur.
