Description
Where would you normally use this timber handrail fitting?
It has a dual purpose use; it can be trimmed back to 37 degree to form part of the handrail on a staircase when needing to change from the horizontal plane to a 37 degree incline (most stairs are pitched at 37 degrees), or it can be mitred at one end and used as a gooseneck at the top of the staircase or on a quarter landing or winder.
What is it made out of?
Sustainably sourced American Oak.
The grade of timber that we use is referred to as SELECT, and is the highest quality available.
It is predominantly clear and free of defects, but a small amount of gum vein, tight knots and black specks are acceptable within the SELECT grading rules.
How do you fix it to the handrail?
Use either the Zipbolt ST-Maxi UT or Zipbolt UT Rail Bolt. Glue the join and then apply a small amount of sanding to blend.
How should you finish it?
If looking for a natural finish, then a clear lacquer will be fine; or you can use a stain to achieve your desired colour then use a clear lacquer to finish it off.
