Where would you normally use timber handrails?
As a handrail, either attached to the wall or as part of the balustrade on a staircase. .

What is it made out of?
The handrail is made from SELECT grade Plantation-grown American Oak.

The material may consist of both solid and finger-jointed pieces (see photos), with lengths over 3m always being finger-jointed. The timber is typically clear and defect-free, though minor natural features like gum veins, surface checking, tight knots, and black specks are allowed under SELECT grading rules. These defects give the timber its character, and will not be considered in the case of a refund being requested.

The handrail is constructed by laminating two pieces of timber together.

How should you finish it?
If looking for a natural finish, then a clear lacquer will be fine; or you can use a stain to achieve your desired colour then use a clear lacquer to finish it off.
