FAQ
Where would you normally use timber stair newel posts ? To structurally support the end of a balustrade on a staircase.
What is it made out of ? Plantation grown Radiata Pine that has been finger-jointed and laminated for added strength.
What are the important dimensions ? Overall: 1500mm Height x 155mm Width x 155mm Depth
Recess : All four sides of the post have a recess to take the Flat LONG drop-in panel. It does NOT suit the MEDIUM or SHORT versions of the drop-in panels.
How should you finish it ? If looking for a natural finish, then a clear lacquer will be fine; or you can use a stain to achieve your desired colour then use a clear lacquer to finish it off.
If wanting to paint, a water based primer/undercoat is not a necessity (although it would not hurt), but at least 2 coats of the final colour is a must.
