FAQs

What is it made out of ?
Plantation grown Victorian Ash (aka Tas Oak or Australian Oak).

We use SELECT grade timber, the highest quality available. However, over time, the overall quality of Victorian Ash has changed, and so have the grading standards. It is not entirely free of defects, features like gum veins, surface checking, tight knots, and black specks are now permissible under the SELECT grading rules. These natural imperfections add unique character to the timber and are not grounds for refunds. Please see the product images.

How does it fit together?
Each panel is machined with a tongue-and-groove profile that allows it to slot together. See the product images for more information.

What is the difference between cover width and actual width?
The actual width is the full width of the board, including the tongue section used for joining.

The cover width is the visible face of the board once installed.

For this profile:

  • Actual width: 90mm
  • Cover width: 75mm

How should you finish it?
If looking for a natural finish, then a clear lacquer will be fine; or you can use a stain to achieve your desired colour then use a clear lacquer to finish it off.
Speak to your local paint retailer for more info.

How will this product be supplied?
This product is supplied in random lengths ranging from 1.0m to 5.1m, with the average board length being approximately 3.0m.

It is not available in set lengths, so boards will need to be joined onsite during installation.
